Goals

As part of a public institution and within the framework of social responsibility, the Language Service (LS) embraces the challenge of continuous improvement. Our work has a particular focus on meeting the needs and expectations of users with regard to language through the following objectives:

  1. Being responsible for the standardised use of Catalan at the University of the Balearic Islands
  2. Providing support to the language consultancy and advice service at the UIB, in accordance with the Balearic Islands Statute of Regional Autonomy
  3. Supporting university staff and students with the necessary training in Catalan and other languages, particularly English, and participating in language training plans developed by the university
  4. Ensuring language quality in university activities, providing translations of scientific and institutional documents, and generally handling any possible language issues in daily university life.
