MARKS FOR THE WRITING SECTION OF THE EXAM

  • The document sets out the marks for the writing section of the exam (areas 1, 2, 3 and 4). You need to attain the minimum required mark in each area; otherwise you cannot pass and will not go on to the oral.
  • If you have passed, we will invite you to the oral exam (area 5) that will take place on 12th April, at the time assigned to you, in the Antoni Maria Alcover i Sureda building, room 4b.
  • Exam reviews will take place on 11th April in the Language Service (Son Lledó). If you would like to review it, you need to call us on 971 17 30 15 on 8th and 9th April between 9 am and 2 pm to ask for an appointment. We will not look at any reviews without a prior appointment.

Examination Information

The exam follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages directives comprising the following areas: Listening, Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary, Writing and Speaking. Each area is eliminatory and in order to pass, candidates need to attain a mark of 50% in each area.

Areas 1, 2 and 3 will all be marked ex officio. If candidates fail any of these areas, area 4 will not be marked. Only those candidates who have passed the written examination will be allowed to take the oral exam.

Registration Terms

Available places: 40 in Majorca, 4 in Minorca and 4 in Ibiza.

Registration must be done in person and is by order of arrival.

In case candidates need to withdraw their registration due to force majeure, a waiting list of a maximum of 10 places will be organised by the same order of arrival.

Registration Process

1.      Come in person to the Language Service (Son Lledó building, university campus) with the following documentation:

o   Registration form downloadable in editable pdf format here (where it states 'Curs al qual us inscriviu, please write 'Examen lliure'). 

o   A photocopy of your ID document

Candidates who are residents in Minorca and Ibiza can submit this documentation at the corresponding local university headquarters. The examination will be held on the university campus in Palma.

2.     Upon submission of this documentation to the Language Service, you will be provided with the account number to pay in your registration fee: 40 euro for university staff and students; 60 euro for external candidates.

3.     You have two (2) days to make the payment. Failure to do so in this period will lead to your registration being cancelled.
