Application for an Information Note on Standardising Forenames and Surnames
Would you like to standardise a name or compound name?
Would you like to standardise one or both surnames?
Would you like to make your name or nickname official?
In accordance with current legislation, the University of the Balearic Islands is responsible for issuing information notes regarding regulations for forenames and surnames in Catalan in the Balearic Islands. Anyone who wishes to register their name in Catalan, adapt the written form of their forename to current Catalan language regulations or include the 'i' conjunction between their surnames must apply for and arrange the change at the relevant Civil Registry, where they will be informed about the required documents they need to provide, in addition to the information note issued by the Onomastic Unit at the UIB Language Service.
