Prior qualifications required
In order to take this level, students must have both oral and written language skills to enable them to deal with language communication situations that may arise on specific and abstract topics including technical debates in the specialised professional fields.

It would be useful to have taken the previous level and have the following accredited certificates or equivalents:

  • B2 Certificate in Catalan issued by the UIB Language Service (from 2010), the Directorate-General for Culture and Youth (Government of the Balearic Islands) or the Official Language School.
  • Certificate B in Catalan issued by the Assessment Board for Catalan / Directorate-General for Langauge Policy / Balearic Public Administration School (Government of the Balearic Islands).
  • Certificate of Language I from the Language and Culture Training and Recycling Programme at the Institute for Educational Sciences.

We regret to inform you that this year's A1 Catalan course in semester two (for general and mobility students) will no longer be running. Due to the ongoing pandemic, our capacity to organise courses and schedule inter-university exchange programmes has been severely limited.
